This Privacy Policy explains how Ember handles information when you use our mobile application for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Ember is a reading highlights application that allows you to import, organize, and review highlights from books, articles, and other reading sources.

Short version: We don't collect your data. Your highlights, notes, and reading data are stored on your device and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account. We have no access to any of it.

Information We Do NOT Collect or Access

• Your highlights, notes, and tags: All your content stays on your device and/or your personal iCloud account. We cannot see, access, or read any of it.
• Payment information: All subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or have access to your payment details.
• Personal identifiers: We don't require accounts, and we don't collect names, emails, or other personal information through the app.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in two places:

• Locally on your device — under your control
• In your personal iCloud account (if iCloud sync is enabled) — governed by Apple's Privacy Policy

We do not operate any servers that store your data. We have no ability to access, view, or retrieve your content.

Third-Party Services - Apple

App Store & Subscriptions

Apple handles all payment processing for subscriptions. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

iCloud

If you enable iCloud sync, your data syncs through Apple's infrastructure. This is between you and Apple.

Apple Intelligence

The app may integrate with Apple Intelligence features for on-device text analysis. All AI processing happens locally on your device and is governed by Apple's privacy practices. No data is sent to us.
